I'm James, owner of Thompson Design-Build. Since 2016, I have been involved in renovations and contracting in various roles. I discovered tile in 2021 and successfully completed intensive training at the Terrazzo, Tile and Marble School of Ontario and worked for the union. I also hold two certifications from industry leaders, Schluter Systems and Wedi.

When I moved to the Ottawa Valley to be closer to family, I worked at Deep River & District Health and saw firsthand how much people value staying in their own homes as they age. That led me into doing full-time bathroom renovations. Over time, I realized that the same design and pre-construction process I apply to a bathroom (detailed scans, drawings, selections, and a firm scope before anything is built) translates just as well to kitchens, basements, secondary suites, and any other interior project. Thompson Design-Build now offers the full range of interior renovations, all through one clear, well-managed process.
